LONDON: UK-based World Forum For Sri Lankan Muslims has called for an immediate ceasefire and recognition of Palestine state.
In a statement issued on Saturday, August 9, states : ” In recent months we have been witnessing a reality with Prime Minister of Israel and
his blood thirsty team has left us with no choice but to acknowledge the truth, Israel
is committing genocide.

For the past 22 months we have clear statements from the Israeli Leadership and
military commanders, saying precisely what they intend to do, Starve, Destroy and
flatten Gaza, no one is considered innocent in their eyes and then they send the
military just that exactly as they promised.
So for past 22 months we have witnessed unprecedented levels of civilian killings,
deliberate starvation, forced mass displacement and total destruction of most
infrastructure for human and social existence. People of Gaza has been displaced,
bombed and starved, and completely stripped of their humanity and rights.
The west said never again after Nazi genocide did they mean that to apply only
when victims are white? In the mind of Jews who experienced holocaust, as
something they never could be allowed to happen again and is happening in Gaza.

Protest around the globe felt like a collective wave of energy, hope and
determination against institutional and governmental intransigence, denial,
obfuscation and enabling that has so many of us feeling despairing, disgusted and
disquieted.
Why aren’t they listening? How is this horror continuing unabated with impunity?
Why won’t western nations including United Kingdom and Australia impose
sanctions and call for arms embargos against Israel’s senseless murder of civilians,
unleashed by some of the most methodical and lethal autonomous weaponry on
Earth and AI machines directing bombs, as claimed by intelligence sources?
As doctors, aid workers and social media feeds document the livestreamed ruins of
cities, we watch the killing of children, people killed in tents while sleeping, starvin
Sixty thousand human souls, around half of them women and children, dead and
tens of thousands more maimed, injured without mercy or relief. Twenty-one months
of a nightmare for Palestinians that beggars’ belief.
Politics and religious apart, American tax money is used to kill and maim Gazas’s

Two leading human rights organisations based in Israel, B’Tselem and Physicians
for Human Rights, say Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza
and the country’s western allies have a legal and moral duty to stop it. In reports
published on Monday, the two groups said Israel had targeted civilians in Gaza only
because of their identity as Palestinians over nearly two years of war, causing
severe and in some cases irreparable damage to Palestinian society.
Now Israel had launched a genocidal campaign in Gaza, there was an urgent risk
that it could spread to target other Palestinians.

killing of medical workers also meant the toll from the genocide would continue to
mount even after any ceasefire halts fighting,
Conclusion
WFSLM believe US and European countries have a legal responsibility to take
stronger action than they have done so far, every tool in the toolbox should be used.
This is not what we think, this is what the genocide convention calls for.
International community should rise up to the need, and call for an immediate ceasefire and recognition of the state of Palestine.
