COLOMBO — A stakeholder meeting organized by Muslim Hands International was held at Mandarina Colombo on Saturday, April 4.
Founder and Chairman Pir Syed Lakhte Hassanain addressed the gathering and briefed attendees on his official visit, which aims to strengthen engagement in education, humanitarian service, and development initiatives. His visit reflects the organization’s sustained involvement in Sri Lanka and its continued efforts to expand impactful programmes through collaboration with national and international stakeholders.
The welcome address was delivered by Mohideen Cader, Trustee of Muslim Hands Sri Lanka.
Founded in the United Kingdom in 1993, Muslim Hands has built over three decades of service in humanitarian assistance, education, and sustainable development. Over the years, the organization has expanded its operations across multiple countries, delivering programmes focused on poverty reduction, education, healthcare, and community development. Its work aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and it continues to collaborate with both governmental and non-governmental bodies.
The organization’s recent agreement with the International Organization for Migration reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening international cooperation.
Among those present were Ambassador of Palestine Ihab I. M. Khalil, representatives of Muslim organizations including the National President of the All-Ceylon YMMA Conference Amhar Sheriff, members of the business community, and trustees and directors of Muslim Hands Sri Lanka.
