COLOMBO — The Old Girls’ Association (OGA) of Ananda Balika Vidyalaya, Maradana, Colombo, held its annual Netball Tournament for the tenth consecutive year at the school premises on Sunday, August 9.
The tournament featured teams representing the school’s four houses — Meththa, Karuna, Muditha and Upekkha — and was held under the patronage of the Principal of Ananda Balika Vidyalaya, Mrs. KW.B.G. Kumuduni.
Meththa House emerged champions after defeating Muditha House in the final, securing the championship for the tenth consecutive year.
The awards were presented to the winners by Principal Mrs. W.B.G. Kumuduni. The captain of the champion Meththa House, Pinithi Nayanakkara, and the captain of the runner-up Muditha House received the respective awards.
Pinithi Nayanakkara was adjudged the Best Player of the Tournament, while the Best Shooter award was won by Dilupa Thushari Perera of Muditha House.
OGA Vice Presidents Ms. Shrimathi Abeygoonesekera and Ms. Anuja De Silva, Secretary Ms. Nayana Jayanetti, Project Chairperson Dilupa Thushari, Advisors of the OGA Deputy Principal S. Adhikari, Ruchira Yapa Abeywardena, Janaranji Liyanage, Shiromi Wijerathne and other OGA members were also present at the event.
