COLOMBO – The Embassy of Vietnam commemorated 133rd Birth Anniversary of the late President Ho Chi Minh and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of his statue in Sri Lanka at the Colombo Public Library premises on Friday May 19.The Ambassador of Vietnam Ho Thi Thanh Truc paid floral tribute to the late President Ho Chi Minh. The chief guest Secretary, Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Somarathne Vidanapathirana, Ambassador of Myanmar Han Thu, Ambassador of Thailand Poj Harnpol, High Commissioner of Malaysia Badli Hisham Adam, Ambassador of Indonesia Dewi Gustina Tobing, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China Political Counsellor Chen Xiangyuan, Vietnam Embassy Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission Tran Trong Thanh and Embassy officials also pai floral tributes to the late President.
Director General Overseas Administration Foreign Ministry W.G.S. Prasanna, Colombo Municipal Council Commissioner J.M. Bhadranie Jayawardhana, Chief Librarian of Colombo Public Library Waruni Gagabadaarachchi, Sri Lanka Vietnam Solidarity Association General Secretary S. Sudasinghe and Municipal Secretary D.M.S. A. Niroshana were also present.
