COLOMBO – The Eleventh Mercmarine Premier League 2023 Cricket Tournament for the Sri Lankan Seafarers was organized by Mercmarine Group of Companies Sports and Welfare Society held at G.H. Buddhadasa Grounds, Pelawatta recently.
Out of the Twenty-two teams that participated this year, Team Commercial Credit and Finance PLC beat Team Nordic Hamburg Crewing Services in the final. Chief Guest, IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador, Captain Nish Wijayakulathilake distributed awards to the winners.
The Champion team’s Captain Dasaiya Kamal Nishantha received a Fifty Thousand Rupees cash award and the Champion Trophy from Lalith Ekanayake, the Chief Operating Officer of Mercantile Marine Management Limited.
Best Bowler, Nissanka Gayanidu Lakshan Fernando, represented by Team Nordic Hamburg Crewing Services, Best Batsman Sameera Nandasiri, represented by Team Commercial Credit and Finance PLC and Man of the Series, Vardaraj Thineshan from Team Commercial Credit and Finance PLC received awards marking a successful ending note to MPL 2023.
Mercmarine Group of Companies Sports and Welfare Society President Niroshini Dady and Members were also present.
