COLOMBO : The Embassy of Egypt in Colombo has embarked on a remarkable educational journey with the launch of
“The Egyptian Day Program.” This student-based initiative is meticulously designed to immerse students
in the rich history and culture of ancient Egypt through a series of engaging activities and events. The
primary goal of the program is to build awareness and broaden the knowledge of students regarding
Egyptian culture and civilization.
Since its inception, the Embassy of Egypt in Colombo has successfully conducted six programs, reaching
a wide audience of students and educators, from Sujatha Vidyalaya, St Clares College, Royal College,
Kandawala Maha Vidyalaya, St. Thomas Catholic International College, and Ananda College. The feedback
from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many students expressing a newfound interest in
ancient Egypt and its myriad wonders.
Looking ahead, the Embassy of Egypt in Colombo plans to expand the Egyptian Day Program to reach
more schools and students. The Embassy’s commitment to continuing this initiative highlights the enduring
value of education in bridging cultures and fostering a deeper understanding of our shared human heritage.
