COLOMBO — The 209th Annual Uroos Mubarak of His Holiness Kuthub Us Sailan Seyyedina Ash Shaikh Usman Ibnu Abdul Rahman As Sideeqi Waliyullah, commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony at the Shaikh Usman Waliyullah Shrine and Masjid (Dewatagaha Mosque), Colombo 7, on Sunday, April 19.
The ceremony commenced with the offering of Duha (prayers), led by respected religious scholars Ash Shaykh Jaleel Muhiyadeen Hazrath and Hassan Mashoor Moulana. This was followed by the recitation of Subhana Mowlid, a devotional tribute in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and concluded with a Bayan (religious sermon) delivering spiritual guidance to the gathering.
Daily recitals will commence on April 19 and continue over a period of ten days, beginning each evening at 5:00 p.m. The series of observances will culminate on April 28 with the Thaman and Grand Feast, scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
The event was attended by key officials of the Board of Trustees, including Chairman Dr. A. A. Mohamed Haroon, Managing Trustee Mohinudeen Bin Ahamed, Secretary Mohamed Rizwan, Chairman of the Religious Committee Dr. A. Rishi, Treasurer Ariff Ali Mohamed, Trustee Irfan Nalir, along with other members.
Distinguished attendees included former Ambassador of Palestine Fawzan Anver, former Chairman of the Dewatagaha Mosque Riyaz Salih, and a large gathering of devotees who graced the Majlis.
