Oman : Sri Lankas tour against Oman kicked off today with the first T20 match in Al Amerat Cricket Ground, Oman. Batting first after being invited to bat, Sri Lanka managed to score 162 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Avishka Fernando stood tall among the Sri Lankan batsmen scoring 83 runs not out off 59 balls. Captain Dasun Shanaka contributed with a quick fire 51 runs (off 24 balls.) to reach a respectable total after being 51 for 4 wickets in the 10th over.
Oman lost half the side for just 54 runs by the 11th over. Sri Lankan bowlers were able to limit Oman to 143 for 8 wickets. Lahiru Kumara got 4 wickets for 30 runs, Nuwan Pradeen 2 for 7 runs while Chamika Karunaratne got 2 wickets for 28 runs. Mohamed Nadeem (32 runs ) and Naseem Khushi (40 runs) batted well for Oman but fell short by 19 runs. (RZ)
