
COLOMBO ; People from various walks of life rushed to convey their condolences on the demise of Kuwait’s ruling emir, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah who passed away at 86.
Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, foreign minister Ali Sabry, Uva Governor A J M Muzzamil, former governor Azath Salley, YWMA president Fawaza Thaha and President of the All Ceylon YMMA Conference Ihsan A Hameed and former Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa were among those who recorded their sympathies on the condolence book provided by the Kuwait embassy.
Colombo Times Chief Editor Mohammmed Rasooldeen registered his deepest sympathies and personally met the Charde de Affaires of the mission, AlOthman Alomar to convey his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved royal family and the people of Kuwait.
