COLOMBO : “Nallapadam” Music Launch to Take Place at Colombo Port City on August 22
The music launch of the Indian Tamil film “Nallapadam” will be held on August 22 on the grand stage of the “World of Raavan” music festival at Colombo Port City.
While music launch events for Indian Tamil films have previously been held outside Tamil Nadu in various countries, the staging of a music launch for an Indian Tamil film in Sri Lanka marks a notable and significant occasion.
Produced by A. Alagu Pandian under Harish Cinemas, “Nallapadam” features Dr. A. Harish as the lead actor and Dhanalakshmi as the female lead.
The film also stars Mottai Rajendran, Kalki Raja, Rama, Priyadarshini and several others in important roles.
Directed by C. Praburam, who previously directed Kettavannu Peredutha Nallavanda, “Nallapadam” explores a socially relevant theme centred around alcohol, blending comedy, romance, emotion and a strong social message.
The music for the film has been composed by Sakishna Xavier, while lyrics have been penned by renowned Sri Lankan poet and Tamil film lyricist Pottuvil Asmin, widely known for the popular song “Ayyo Saami.”
Four Songs Featuring Leading Singers
The film features four songs, all composed by Sakishna Xavier.
The songs have been sung by Velmurugan, Arulprakasham, Punniya Selva, Gayathri Rajeev and Shashank.

Ahead of the music launch of “Nallapadam,” actors, directors, lyricists and playback singers from the Indian film industry have been extending their wishes for the event.
The grand music launch is expected to further strengthen the artistic and cultural connection between Indian Tamil cinema and Tamil audiences in Sri Lanka.
The introduction of the music of “Nallapadam” on Sri Lankan soil is also expected to mark a new chapter in India–Sri Lanka Tamil cultural and artistic relations, making the August 22 event a significant occasion for the Tamil film industry and music enthusiasts.
