


RIYADH : Sri Lanka Embassy in Riyadh conducted the first Mobile Service Programme, led by its Ambassador Ameer Ajwad, in Hail region as part of its various initiatives to reach out the members of the Sri Lankan community living across the Kingdom. The Programme was held recently at the City Flower Hyper Market Building, Al Mahattah in Hail.
The Programme attracted more than 100 Sri Lankan migrant workers and rendered labour welfare and consular services including labour dispute settlement, SLBFE registration, advisory support on labour welfare and pension schemes, passport application, issuance and renewal services, etc.
Speaking during the event, Ambassador Ameer Ajwad stated that the Sri Lanka Embassy in Riyadh is committed to reaching out to the Sri Lankan expatriates living across the Kingdom, ensuring their welfare and addressing their needs by bring the Embassy services to their doorstep. He also outlined the initiatives that the Embassy has already implemented to reach out to the Sri Lankan expatriates community in Saudi Arabia including the Embassy’s signature programme, “Talk to Your Ambassador” as well as social media platforms to reach out to the community. He also encouraged the members of Sri Lankan community to make use of such platforms.
Mangala Randeniya, Counsellor for Employment and Welfare and Sandun Nishantha, Third Secretary for the Employment & Welfare, Mr. Chamara Perera, Attache for Consular Affairs and other officials at the Employment & Welfare section of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Riyadh participated and provided required labour and consular related services to the Sri Lankan expatriates living in Hail region of the Kingdom. Sampath Bank based in Riyadh also conducted a financial literacy session for the participants.
