HA NOI : A high-level business delegation comprising 21 prominent entrepreneurs from the Chamber of
Lankan Entrepreneurs (COYLE) is undertook an official trade mission to Ha Noi and Ho Chi
Minh City from October 8 to 13, 2026. Led by Mr. Suren Chandraratna, Chairman of COYLE,
the visit aims to foster bilateral trade, investment, and strategic business-to-business (B2B)
partnerships between Sri Lanka and Viet Nam.
The 21 visiting delegates represented a diverse array of key Sri Lankan industries, including
Construction and Engineering, Renewable Energy, Information Technology (ICT) and Digital
Transformation, Packaging, Food and Agriculture, Hospitality, Automotive and Industrial
Engineering, and Business Consultancy. Acting as a bridge for trade promotion, the Embassy of
Sri Lanka in Viet Nam facilitated a comprehensive six-day itinerary of B2B meetings and
networking sessions between the delegation and leading Vietnamese enterprises and associations.
The mission’s formal engagements commenced on the afternoon of October 8, when the
delegation and Embassy officials attended the 3rd Capital Economic Forum (CEF III 2026). Held
in Ha Noi under the direction of the Ha Noi People’s Committee and the Viet Nam Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (VCCI), in collaboration with the Ha Noi Association of Small and
Medium Enterprises (HANOISME), the forum provided an excellent platform for COYLE
members to engage in sideline discussions with the event’s organizers and local business leaders.
On the morning of October 9, Mr. Poshitha Perera, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Viet Nam, along
with COYLE leaders, engaged in a bilateral contact with Ms. Tran Thi Lan Anh, Secretary General
of VCCI. The two sides exchanged views on the prospects for promoting economic, trade, and
investment relations between Viet Nam and Sri Lanka, particularly in the context of improved air
connectivity between the two countries and the increasing need to seek reliable partners in new
markets.
During the same morning, the COYLE delegation and Embassy representatives held a productive
working session with Dr. Dinh Viet Hoa, Founding Chairman of the Viet Nam National
Association of Entrepreneurship (VINEN).
Transitioning to Viet Nam’s southern economic hub, the delegation commenced their
engagements in Ho Chi Minh City on October 13. The itinerary featured substantive discussions
with key industry bodies, including the Viet Nam Association of Construction Contractors (VACC)
and the Viet Nam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA). In addition, the delegates
held highly productive B2B meetings with a diverse group of prominent Vietnamese enterprises
spanning various sectors, further broadening the scope for cross-border collaboration.
Through this extensive series of engagements, the COYLE delegation has successfully explored
practical B2B cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese partners. This milestone visit highlights
a shared commitment to market expansion, opening the potential for stronger, more substantial,
and mutually beneficial bilateral trade cooperation between Sri Lanka and Viet Nam in the future.
