COLOMBO : An extensive discussion was held on Tuesday (20 Feb.) between Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry and his Iranian counterpart Dr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who is on an official visit to Colombo.
The parties discussed several matters of concern, including further strengthening their cooperation in multiple areas, including the energy sector.
“We agreed to work closely and enhance our partnership further”, Minister Sabry said in a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter).
Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Sri Lanka on Monday night (19 Feb.), and was welcomed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) by State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya.
The Iranian foreign minister is in Sri Lanka for a three-day official visit, and he also paid a courtesy call on President Ranil Wickremesinghe and will also meet Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
