COLOMBO – The 9th China-South Asia Exposition (CSA Expo) and the 29th China Kunming Import and Export Fair will be held from June 19 to 24, 2025, in Kunming, the capital of China’s Yunnan Province. Co-hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Yunnan Province, the event will welcome over 1,400 enterprises from 54 countries and regions, highlighting its growing stature as a premier platform for international trade, investment, and cultural exchange.
This year’s edition will see Sri Lanka featured as the theme country, offering a prominent platform to showcase its products, tourism, and investment potential and underscoring its growing economic and cultural ties with China and the wider region. Meanwhile, Thailand has been invited as the special partner country, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bangkok and Beijing.

Held under the theme “Solidarity and Coordination for Common Development,” the expo will span 150,000 square meters across 15 thematic exhibition zones. In addition to showcasing Yunnan’s key industries—such as green energy, healthcare, coffee, modern agriculture, and tourism—the event will spotlight specialty products and innovations from across South and Southeast Asia, fostering deeper commercial and cultural linkages.
Since its inception in 2013, the China-South Asia Expo has evolved into a vital platform for economic diplomacy and regional development. The 2025 edition is set to play a pivotal role in enhancing connectivity, driving innovation, and promoting sustainable collaboration between China and its neighbouring economies.
With participation from leading global and regional enterprises, government delegations, and trade organizations, the event underscores China’s continued commitment to inclusive growth and multilateral cooperation in a rapidly changing global economic landscape.
