COLOMBO- Senior diplomat said that there was a time when Sri Lanka media was a model for south India and the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation was keenly followed by the South Indian listeners.
Banu Prakash, political counselor at the Indian High Commission in Colombo was making the keynote address at the Sri Lanka Muslim Media Forum’s (SLMMF) 71st Media workshop held at AL-Hikma National College on Monday November 7.
Prakash recalled that some of the leading artistes were well-known for their professionalism and even some of them were emulated their examples in Tamil Nadu.



More than 125 students participated from Al-Hidhaya and Al Hikma national schools participated in this The Workshop was chaired by SLMMF Chairperson Senior Journalist from SLBC Furkhan Bee Ifthikhar and Advisor of SLMMF N M Ameen,Senior Vice President Thaha Muzamil, M.A.M. Nilam, Secrtary of SLMMF Sihar Aneez, Asstant Treasurer Naalir Jamaldeen, Assitant Secrtary Sadique Shihan were also present at the workshop.
Assitant Director News SLBC Junaid M Haries, and Producer of SLBC Muslim Service Ishfan Shahabdeen, Electronc Media practical training for Vidiography and Photography, Ash Sheik Jemsith also delivered a speech.
The certificate issuing cermony was held in the evning – Al Hikma National School Principal and Poet Mullai Mushrifa, and Chief Guest Prof Rameez Abdullah, Professir in Tamil Department , at the Sourh Eastern University, Guest of Honour Banu Prakash, Thinakran Chief Editor Senthil Velavar distributed the certificates to the successful students who took part in the workshop
