COLOMBO – The Sri Lanka Islamic Centre distributed Rs 800,000 worth of gift vouchers to 400 needy families in Maligawatta area to help them celebrate Ramadan and the Eid ul Fitr Festival.
The event was held at the headquarters of the Islamic Centre, Colombo on Monday March 24.
The Islamic Centre distributes nearly 1000 dry rations packs every year during the Month of Ramadan. This year they presented gift vouchers to the people of the area to buy their requirements.
Chairman of the Islamic Centre and former ambassador of Saudi Arabia Al Haj. Hussain Mohamed distributed gift vouchers to the needy families. Secretary of the Islamic Center Shahul Hameed Mohamed, and Director Moulavi M.B.M. Zarook was also present.
