COLOMBO : Sri Lanka Indonesia Friendship Association,SLIFA, hosted a glamorous Christmas party to its members under the patronage of the country’s ambassador Dewi Gustina Tobing on Tuesday evening on Dec 26 at the Indonesian embassy in Colombo.
Kaluthara Kadalana Methodist Church Rev. Fr. Anura Perera conducted sermon and Methodist Church Youth Fellowship sang the Christmas carols.
Ambassador along with Rev. Fr. Anura Perera and Sri Lanka Indonesia Friendship Association President Marleena Laxana lit the candle and cut the Christmas Cake at this ceremony.
Also the Ambassador presented gift packs to the children.
Ambassador Tobing spoke on the significance of Christmas and said that its an annual event celebrated by Christians and observed by others for the greater good of the nation.
A choir from a church in Moratuwa recited the Christmas carols followed by a sumptuous dinner.
Sri Lanka and Indonesia celebrate their 70th year of diplomatic relations, while the Lanka-Indonesia Friendship Society completes 30 years of service to the nation.
