COLOMBO: In preparation of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Hajj Committee Reyaz Mihular has summoned a meeting of Hajj operators on Wednesday, 30July.
Speaking to Colombo Times Mihular said the committee has already called for prospective pilgrims for 2026 and so far 1875 have already registered with the Muslim department for. He said that there are 92 Hajj operators in the island and the committee is interested in filtering the operators on the strength of their financial capability. He said that the new Hajj regulations require travel operators who are financially sound to handle any situations .
