COLOMBO : Sri Lanka has thanked all member states of the UN General Assembly for electing her to serve in the Economic and Social Council. Sri Lanka last served at the ECOSOC during 2006-2008 and will begin its term on 1st January 2025., a statement released for the occasion said on Saturday , June 8, said.
“The election to the ECOSOC is Sri Lanka’s 4th consecutive success at a multilateral election. This marks a significant milestone for Sri Lanka’s diplomatic engagement led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its overseas Diplomatic Missions,” the statement added .
