MUSCAT : Namal Rajapaksa, Minister of Youth & Sports, Minister of Development Co-ordination and Monitoring and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development of Sri Lanka who visited the Sultanate of Oman at the invitation of Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik al Said to grace the inauguration of the first final qualifiers T20 cricket World Cup 2021 match between Oman and Papua New Guinea held at Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman on Sunday 17.
The minister witnessed the match together with Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik, Crown Prince and the Minister of Culture, Youth & Sports Affairs of Oman,Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman, Sourav Ganguly, ICC Chairman and Governor of Muscat.
The first ever Cricket World Cup hosted by Oman began with the Omani traditional women band coinciding the Oman’s Women’s Day.
Sri Lankan Ambassador in Oman, Ameer Ajwad was the official in attendance to the visiting Sri Lankan minister.
