COLOMBO : The Sports Day and Annual Fellowship of the Old Boys’ Association of Zahira College Colombo was held at the College Grounds on Sunday October 2.
Old Boys of young and old participated in Cricket, Football, Rugby, Hockey, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tug o war, Rifle Shooting, 8 Ball Pool, Bowling, Go karting, Triathlon, Badminton and Do You Know Contest.
There are nearly 40 affiliated Groups and Batches from the 1960s era to the recently left old boys of 2020 were participated the tournament.
Event was held in 3 categories as Youth, Master and Grand Master
Youth Category Champion is batch of 2009 and Runners up is batch of 2011, Master Category Champion is batch of 1998 and Runners up is batch of 2000, Grand Master Champion is Group of 70
The Overall Champion Trophy was awarded to the Batch of ’98, Runners up Batch of 2009
Former Mayor of Colombo Omar Kamil was present as chief guest and guest of honour News First Consultant Siripali Wanniarachchi presented trophies to the winners of winning groups.
Special Guest Colombo Times Chief Editor and Colombo Correspondent Arab News Mohamed Rasooldeen along with the Principal of the Zahira College Trizviey Marrikar, Chairman of the Board of Governors Fouzul Hameed , President of the Old Boys’ Association Alavi Mukthar, Secretary Nuzri Munsoor, Project Chairman Azhar Salahudeen and the Executive Committee Members of the Association were graced the event.
