The event showcased traditional Korean culture, symbolising the deep diplomatic ties between South Korea and Sri Lanka.
The Governor of the Western Province, Hanif Yusuf, was the Chief Guest, while Chief of Defence Staff General Shavendra Silva attended as a special invitee.
The reception, organised by the Korean Embassy featured a splendid array of traditional Korean events that encapsulated the pride and traditions of this friendly nation. It was a night that not only celebrated Korea’s culture but also emphasized the strong bonds of diplomacy and camaraderie between the two nations.
The Honourable Governor of the Western Province, Mr. Hanif Yusuf, graced the evening as the Chief Guest.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil attended the glamorous evening at the invitation extended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Sri Lanka, Miyon Lee.
During the grand evening, the Chief of Defence Staff expressed his gratitude for the gracious invitation and extended his best wishes to the nation and its Armed Forces on their celebratory occasion. He also commended the effort of the Embassy which ensured the continued strong relations maintained with the Sri Lankan Armed Forces.
The Ambassador and the Governor Hanif Yusuf, in their remarks to the distinguished gathering, thoughtfully reflected on the deep-rooted relationship between the two nations, emphasizing the longstanding ties and mutual cooperation that have strengthened over the years.
