COLOMBO ; Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing – SLIM, has made all arrangements to hold the 25th National Sales Awards in September this year. “This has been a prestigious event in the SLIM calendar since 2010, to appreciate and reward the sales force of the country and has become the most recognized platform to uplift the standards of the people attached to the sales profession” said Dr. Dilhan Sampath Jayatilleke VP Education & Research of SLIM.
‘Ambassadors of Sales: The force behind the figures’ is the theme for 2025 to drive the frontline sales force and their supervisory management and supporting arms to reach higher levels of the profession. Dr. Jayatilleke said a commonly known ‘Sales Rep’ is an ambassador of the company who represent the sales and serviced area on behalf of their employer.
Prof.(Dr.) Dewasiri N Jayantha, President of SLIM said “Genuine sales excellence extends beyond achieving targets that involves creating meaningful value for clients, understanding their strategic needs, maintaining ethical business practices and cultivating lasting partnerships”. He also said that National Sales Awards provides sales professionals with an exceptional platform to develop into influential leaders who drive sustainable business growth t.
“The National Sales Awards has been the reason that ladies in Sri Lanka encouraged to engage in the sales profession. The gender gap in employment persists low with women whereas there is a significant higher portion of the population and their participation in employment is very. Therefore, we at SLIM support this endeavor to increase the women participation in sales jobs. At present there is a large number of women employees directly involved as sales ambassadors”.
SLIM invited all establishment in the country engaged in sales to propose their nominees to National Sales Awards 2025. It also announced a category is opened for media sales professionals too.
