COLOMBO :: Responding to an enquiry made by Colombo Times, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Foreign Employment and Tourism , Arun Hemachandra said on Sunday, May 31, that the matter involving the ACJU secretary general Sheikh Arkam Noorahmith’s has been amicably resolved.
In a statement, Hemachandra said : ” We appreciate the positive and constructive manner in which the recent matter concerning Ash-Sheikh Arkam Nooramith, General Secretary of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama, has been resolved.”
“Our sincere thanks go to the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the understanding shown and for the cooperation extended in bringing this matter to a peaceful and respectful conclusion.
We also acknowledge the efforts of all those who acted with responsibility, patience, and wisdom during this sensitive situation.
Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia share a long-standing relationship built on mutual respect, friendship, religious ties, and the deep people-to-people connection between our two nations.
At moments such as this, it is important that matters are handled through dialogue, diplomacy, and mutual understanding.
