


COLOMBO : The Supreme Chamber of Youth Governance (SCY-GOV) successfully distributed over 250 essential relief packs to individuals affected by the recent floods in several areas in Colombo. The distribution took place across various camps in Mahawatta, Aluthmawatha, Mattakkuliya, Kotahena, and Maligawatte.
Each pack included a variety of biscuits, bread, buns, sanitary items, and basic medical supplies such as Panadol and balms, aimed at providing immediate relief to displaced families.
This initiative was notably supported by Al Haj Maheer Hassan, Chairman of Zeenath Trading (Pvt) Ltd and Senior Vice President of the Maligawatte Grand Jumma Masjid, who was also one of the major donors. He joined the team on-site and personally participated in the distribution process, marking the beginning of this impactful relief drive.
The event also saw the participation of Hon. Kaleelur Rahuman, Colombo Municipal Councillor, who extended his support to the cause.
The initiative was led and coordinated by the SCY-GOV Governing Council, including Supreme Chairman Umair Nawshad, General Secretary Zamil Shafeek, General Treasurer Usama Fazar, and other dedicated members of the leadership team.
SCY-GOV continues to remain committed to youth-led humanitarian efforts and will further its outreach in response to community needs.
