SCOT tells details of children’s competitions to mark Prophet Muhammed’s birthday- Meelad un Nabi

COLOMBO : The Supreme Council of Sufi Thareekas, SCOT, has organized a series of competitions for children as part of its Prophet Muhammed’s Celebrations this year.

Children from six to 18 years of age are eligible to participate in all three languages which will be held online. Applications are to be submitted before October 25.

The details of the competitions are appended :  

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR THE COMPETITIONS

1. An applicant may participate in one or more competitions according to their wish. Events and Topics can be selected according to the age category.
2. The final date for registration of all events is on 25th of October 2021.
3. Registrations made after the closing date will not be accepted.
4. All participants, excluding School Children should submit the front copy of their National Identity Card (NIC) at the time of registration.
5. Events will be conducted under the following categories and age groups:
   1. Junior Category (Age 6-9),
   1. Intermediate Category (Age 10-14),
   1. Senior Category (Age 15-18)
   1. Above 18 Category (19 Years & Above)
6. A Participant’s age should be below the maximum age stipulated under each category as of 25th of Oct 2021. For Example “If a participant is born on or before 25th October 2015 or is born on or after 26th October 2012” he/she is qualified for Junior Category and so on for other categories.
7. Awards and Certificates will be awarded for the First Three places. Only Participation Certificates will be awarded for places from 04 to 10.
8. Competitions will be conducted in Sinhala, Tamil & English Languages. A Participant is required to select his/her preferred language at the time of registration.
9. Participants who participate in Qi’rath, Speech and Qaseeda Competition should record their performances and upload their Videos onto our website www.scotsl.com. The Duration for each age category is mentioned under their respective event rules.
10. Participants who participate in Poem and Essay writing competitions should upload their submission onto the above mentioned website in the form of PDF or JPG.
11. Participants who participate in Arabic Calligraphy Competition should upload their art-work onto the above mentioned website in the form of PDF or JPG and post them via Courier service to No. 12-14, C.W.W. Kannangara Mawatha, Colombo 07.
12. Please note that the participants who violate the rules & regulations of the competition will be disqualified from the event.
13. All Submissions should be made before the deadline mentioned below. Late submissions will not be accepted.
14. The decision made by the Project Committee of Meelad Un Nabi ﷺ is final.
