A group of pilgrims consisting of 10 individuals from Sri Lanka traveled to Saudi Arabia to perform the Umrah pilgrimage through the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Program for Hajj, Umrah Programme, overseen by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance of the Kingdom .
The author of this article, was honored to have been granted the privilege by the Kingdom. Representing Sri Lanka as a special group, we deeply appreciate the gracious program of His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to undertake the Umrah pilgrimage. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional opportunity bestowed upon us and for the extraordinary hospitality shown to us since our arrival in the kingdom.
During our time in the blessed city of Madinah, the group was afforded the remarkable opportunity to meet with the esteemed Imam of the Masjid An Nabawi, Sheikh Ahmadh Bin Ali Al-Hudhaifi. This meeting served as a poignant reminder of the spiritual heritage and the enduring legacy of Islam, encapsulated within the walls of this revered sanctuary.
The hospitality extended to us throughout our pilgrimage, from the moment of arrival, exemplifies the noble traditions of generosity and kindness deeply rooted in the culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Every interaction, every gesture, was imbued with warmth and sincerity, leaving an indelible impression on our hearts and minds.
Vice Chancellor of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka Prof. Rameez Abubakar, who is a part of the Lankan pilgrims, also extended his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for inviting the delegation to attend the program, expressing his pleasure at the generous invitation and the warm hospitality and reception
The Secretary at the Ministry of Investment Promotion of Sri Lanka Mr. Nayeemudeen, who is also a part of the Lankan pilgrims, thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for hosting them amid unprecedented generosity, kindness, and hospitality.
Our gratitude knows no bounds as we extend our sincerest thanks to His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and the people of Saudi Arabia for their unwavering commitment to ensuring that pilgrims are welcomed with open arms and treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
