


COLOMBO : On the occasion of the International Day of the Arabian Leopard, which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on June 12, 2023, unanimously, in accordance with the resolution called “International Day of the Arabian Leopard”, that was submitted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was co-sponsored by more than 30 countries. The resolution stated that February 10 is “International Day of the Arabian Leopard” and is celebrated annually around the world as an awareness day to shed light on the Arabian leopard as one of the most endangered breeds of big cats, which are (lion, Panthera tigris, mountain lion, jaguar, cheetah, leopard, snow leopard), highlighting the importance of preserving wildlife and biodiversity, as well as highlighting the efforts of countries that are considered home to the Arabian leopard, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in Protecting it through various initiatives that contribute to its survival, the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia organized an event on Monday, 10th February 2025, at the Galle Face Hotel at 9:00 am. The event will included a walk on Galle Face green.
