COLOMBO : On the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I extend my warmest greetings and sincere good wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; the Government; and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi National Day, celebrated on 23 September, commemorates the unification of the Kingdom and offers an opportunity to celebrate its remarkable journey of progress, development and national achievement.
Saudi Arabia holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide as the custodian of the two holy cities of Makkah and Madinah and as the host of millions of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims each year. The Kingdom’s dedication to serving pilgrims from across the world is deeply valued.
Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia share longstanding relations based on friendship, mutual respect and strong people-to-people ties. With growing opportunities in trade, investment, tourism, employment and industry, there is considerable potential to further strengthen our economic partnership. Initiatives such as the Saudi–Sri Lanka Joint Business Council provide an important platform for deeper cooperation.
The generations of Sri Lankans who have lived and worked in Saudi Arabia have also played an important role in strengthening the bonds between our two nations.
On this joyous occasion, I wish the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continued progress, peace and prosperity, and its people every happiness and success. May the enduring friendship between Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia continue to flourish for generations to come
