A ceremony to felicitate Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Yuri Materiy who concluded his tenure here was held at the Russian Embassy in Colombo on September 6. President of the Parliamentary Sri Lanka- Russia Friendship Association and Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha, Deputy Ambassador of the Russian Embassy Alexi Budanov and other guests were present.
COLOMBO: The Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Yuri Materiy is said to leave Sri Lanka following the conclusion of his tenure. A group of officials met the Ambassador at the Russian Embassy in Colombo on September 6 to felicitate and thank the Ambassador on behalf of the citizens of Sri Lanka for the great service rendered during his tenancy.
Deputy Ambassador of the Russian Embassy Alexi Budanov, President of the Parliamentary Sri Lanka- Russia Friendship Association and Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha, former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Dr. Saman Weerasinghe and Madam Anastasia Khokhlova, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Director of the Russian House in Colombo along with Buddhapriya Ramanayake, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian House in Colombo graced the occasion.
While thanking Ambassador Yuri Materiy for his service as the Russian Ambassador over the past five years to enhance Diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and Russia and strengthen friendships between the two countries, we extend our earnest wishes for his future endeavours.
