The Russian Federation has extended a generous gesture of support to the people of Sri Lanka by donating a consignment of humanitarian aid in response to the current weather disaster affecting several regions of the country.
Some consignment of food, sanitary items and water were handed over to The Chief Incumbent of the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple, Ven. Dr. Kirinde Assaji Nayaka Thera and Sirasa Shakthi Sahana Yathra office by Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Sri Lanka and the Maldives Levan Dzhagaryan along with Russian Embassy Counselor Maria Popova.
The humanitarian aircraft is scheduled to arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport on December 8 carrying essential relief items needed by affected communities.
The donation will be officially received by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Sri Lanka and the Maldives Levan Dzhagaryan. This assistance reflects the continued friendship and cooperation between the two nations and aims to provide immediate support to the people of Sri Lanka.
