COLOMBO — The Embassy of Russian Federation of Sri Lanka handed over 35 tons of Russian Humanitarian Aid to Sri Lanka to the current weather disaster affected floods and landslides triggered by Cyclone Ditwah.
The Ambassador of Russia Levan Dzhagaryan officially handed over to the consignment to the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Anura Karunathilaka and Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd).at the Katunayake International Airport on Wednesday December 10.
Ambassador Levan Dzhagaryan said “This assistance is a reflection of long-term friendly relations between Russia and Sri Lanka and reaffirms Moscow’s commitment to support countries in a difficult humanitarian situation.”
The following items ; –
✅ A movable 60 kW electric power station
✅ Pumping equipment for water drainage
✅ Summer tents (10-person capacity)
✅ Food supplies (sugar, vegetable oil, rice)
The total cargo weight is 35 metric tons. The aid will be distributed among the most affected regions
