KANDY : The first ‘Randoli’ of the historic Kandy Esala Perahera will parade the streets of Kandy pn Wednesday. August 18.
It will begin at the Sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa premises at 7.02pm and will parade Dalada Weediya, D. S. Senanayake Weediya, Temple Road, Dewa Weediya, Colamba Weediya, E. L. Senanayake Weediya and Raja Weediya.Prior to the ‘Randoli’, the ‘Kumbal Perahera’ was held on five consecutive days. This year’s Kandy Esala Perahera is being held without crowds and all artistes are participating as a bio-bubble.
About 5,500 police officers are deployed for the security of the area during the event. (CDN)
