RUZAIK FAROOK
The Colombo Grand Mosque announced that the crescent for the month of Shawwal was not sighted. Therefore “Eid Ul Fitr” Ramazan Festival will be celebrated on Saturday March 21st.
The decision was taken at a meeting attended by Vice President of the All Ceylon Jammiyyathul Ulama (the Supreme Council of Muslim Theologians of Sri Lanka) Ash Sheikh Burhan, Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Director M.S.M. Nawas, and Colombo Grand Mosque President Thahir Razeen, who were present in the evening after Maghrib prayers at the Colombo Grand Mosque.
Special prayers will be held at all the mosques for our motherland—for peace, harmony, tolerance, understanding, and brotherhood—and also for the whole world.
