COLOMBO – Muslims in Sri Lanka will begin Ramazan fasting from Sunday, March 3rd as the Colombo Grand Mosque announced Saturday evening that the crescent for the holy month of Ramadan was sighted in several parts of the country.
The decision was taken at a zoom meeting attended by Vice President of the All Ceylon Jammiyyathul Ulema (the Supreme Council of Muslim Theologians of Sri Lanka) Ash Sheik A. L. M. Rila, Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Director Ibrahim Ansar and Colombo Grand Mosque President Thaufik Zubyr were present last evening after Maghrib prayers at the Colombo Grand Mosque.
