COLOMBO: The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has decided to exclude additional costs arising from coal quality when revising electricity tariffs.
The Commission stated that only reasonable costs related to electricity generation, transmission, and distribution will be considered in tariff revisions. It also noted that in the previous tariff revision, extra costs linked to coal quality or any other unreasonable expenses were not approved.
The PUCSL has unanimously decided to continue this approach in future revisions, ensuring that consumers are not burdened with unfair or unnecessary costs
