President Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed Prof. Monte Cassim as the Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa.
Prof. Cassim is the Vice-Chancellor of the Ritsumeikan Trust and from April 2004 until January 2010 served as the President of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Beppu, Japan where he remains Professor.
