President promises increase in salaries of public sector workers,while requesting the private sector to follow suit

COLOMBO ; In the wake of a series of protests calling for a salary increase , President Ranil Wickremesinghe has informed the Cabinet of Ministers this Monday evening on October 30 that steps have been taken to increase the salaries of government employees through the 2024 Budget, sources 

The source further said that a request will be made for the private sector to follow suit.
