COLOMBO : The Past Pupils Association (PPA) of the Muslim Ladies College, (MLC) Colombo 4 donated a fully equipped Rs 6 million worth computer laboratory to the school on Monday.
Vice President of the PPA Fathima Ferouza Muzammil told Colombo Times that the new lab is fully funded from donations from past pupils and well-wishers. She also said the school which has a strength of 3,500 students and 150 teachers will be celebrating its 75th anniversary on Nov.4
The event was organized by MLC Past People Association and the laboratory was formally inaugurated by Mrs. Zahara Abdeen, who was the Chief Guest for the occasion.
Speaking to Colombo Times, MLC Principal Mrs Nasriya Munas said the vision of the school is to guide the students to keep pace with the scientific and technological developments and to make them useful citizens in the society. “ We have chalked out a series of programmes to celebrate the platinum year of the school in November,” she said, hoping to bring out the talents and skills of the students through a chain of extra- curricular activities.
