COLOMBO (News 1st) – A Sub-Inspector attached to the Dehiwala Police Station has been arrested for allegedly engaging in drug trafficking.
Police Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wootler stated that the Officer-in-Charge of the Dehiwala Police Station has commenced investigations into the arrested sub-inspector.
The arrested Sub-Inspector, who is a resident of Matara, has served in the police for a period of three years.
The Dehiwala Police OIC who investigated the individuals associated with the officer, confirmed that the Sub-Inspector was involved in drug trafficking.
The Police Spokesperson said that further investigations into the officer will be carried out by the Officer-in-Charge of the Dehiwala Crimes Division.
