COLOMBO : Chairman and Managing Director of Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) Uvais Mohamed has submitted his resignation from his position on Tuesday, December 21, according to a letter of resignation submitted to the Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Mohamed Uvais Mohamed was informed by Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila on Monday to resign from his post since he wants to appoint one of his nominees to the post.
In his letter of resignation submitted to the president which is made available to Colombo Times , Uvais Mohamed had specifically mentioned that he is tendering his resignation on a request made by Energy Minister Gamanpilla.
The letter dated December 18, addressed to the President, Uvais Mohamed said : “ I have rendered my resignation on the request of Energy Minister Udaya Gamanpila as he intends to appoint his choice of personal to this position. I would like to specially extend my appreciation to the Hon. President of Sri Lanka and Hon. Prime Minister of Sri Lanka and Podujana Perumuna for the trust placed in me to carry out my duties in an efficient manner. I would like to whole heartedly thank all the staff at CPSTL who worked tirelessly to make a progress in this organization for the betterment of the country. 1 have enjoyed the challenges faced by me which I believe we overcame successfully as a team. I believe the actions taken by me have always been conducted in a collaborative and transparent manner and am contactable at any time for any clarification. I would like to thank you, board of Lanka IOC PLC. ministry staff and the minister for all the support during my time as the chairman of CPSTL.”
