

ISLAMABAD :The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, hosted the Sri
Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Pakistan cricket teams for a state luncheon at his house Thursday,Nov. 20,
The event was attended by the Federal Minister for Interior and
Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board and
Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, the Ambassador of Zimbabwe, and the
High Commissioner of Sri Lanka.
In his remarks, the Prime Minister highly commended the Sri Lankan team’s decision to
stay on and continue the tour despite recent security concerns. He extended special thanks
to the Government of Sri Lanka, the President, Sri Lanka Cricket, and the High
Commissioner, describing this moment as a milestone in cricket diplomacy between Sri
Lanka and Pakistan.
The Manager and Captain of the Sri Lankan team expressed their gratitude for the warm
hospitality, luncheon, facilities, and security arrangements provided during the tour.
In his address, the High Commissioner highlighted the rich cricketing history between Sri
Lanka and Pakistan and their longstanding friendship built on mutual understanding,
respect, and trust. He further emphasized how cricket has played a remarkable role in
further strengthening this bond.
