



BADULLA : Joyously commemorated Ramadan with an interfaith iftar, warmly welcoming their parents, teachers, students and community personalities from all four religious backgrounds to experience its traditions every year. A heartfelt appreciation to the Management for graciously initiating such activities to celebrate interfaith harmony within the community.
This time too, Oxford Ifthar – 2025 was organized by the Management and Muslim Majlis of Oxford International College, Badulla on Saturday the 22nd of March 2025 at the Capital City Hotel Badulla.

All Ceylon YMMA Conference Immediate Past National President & Oxford International College Welfare Association President, Al Haj Ihsaan A Hameed, Chairperson of Oxford International Colleges, Mrs Fawziya Begam, Managing Directress, Mrs Farzana Nazeer, Executive Directress, Miss Nuha Rizan. School Administrators, Miss Naiha Rizan & Nadha Rizan. Muslim Majlis President Mr Thajeer, YWMA patron, Al Haj A A Junaideen. Anwer Jumma Masjidh president – Al Haj Imtiaz Packirdeen, Al Haj Najidiyar (Lanka Gems), Al Haj Rafeeque (Proprietor of Rafeeques), MKB Ceylon Chairman, Al Haj Bishrul Haq & so many other Businesses Magnets and community personalities of Badulla participated. All Parents Students & Teachers of Oxford International College were united under one beautiful cause.
The event started off with a Qirath recited by Moulavi Umair (Rahmani) & the Azan was called out by Moulavi Iqbal (Hashimi).
The Welcome speech was given by All Ceylon YMMA Conference Immediate Past National President & Oxford International College Welfare Association President, Al Haj Ihsaan A Hameed.
There was a guest Speech presented by Ash Sheikh Rashaad Hafis on the Importance of Ramadan and Why do Muslims fast.
A Special Speech on the Importance of Coexistence and Interfaith was presented by Ash Sheikh Muneer Mulaffer
The Invitees Speech was given by Minister of plantation & Infrastructure Development Hon Samantha Vidyarathne.
All in all, it was a successful gathering of 650 people from in and around Badulla. Many, appreciated the opportunity and efforts put in by the Oxford Badulla Management for building bridges between the religious communities.
