COLOMBO – The Local Government Election meetings are being held around the country and they are scheduled on 6th of May.
The National People’s Power (NPP) propaganda meeting was held at the Jumma Masjid Road, Maligawatta,Colombo on Saturday April 18. It was held under the patronage of NPP candidate Ms. Shazna Farook.
Deputy Speaker of Parliament Dr. Rizvi Salih addressing the gathering said : “We have a strong 159 seats in Parliament. We never waste public money. It was proved at the President’s swearing- in as a President of Sri Lanka. Only a bottle of water was served at a cost of Rupees 54, 000. He further said that this Colombo Municipal Council also should follow suit like parliament to save public money. Dr. Salih also said : “ We have been paying parking fees to the Colombo Municipal Council but they have never gone to the Municipal Treasury .
Mayoral Candidate Vray Cally Belthazer, Maligawatta East Ward Candidate Farhath Siddique and Ms. Shazna Farook also addressed the gathering.
