COLOMBO : Nida Foundation distributed dry rations among 800 people in the lockdown area in the Blomendhal Road,Colombo-13 on Sunday December 20.

The distribution took place at the Bloemendhal Mosque in the presence of the members of the clergy from Buddhist, Christian and Islamic faiths. According to Moulavi Yaseen from the Mosque, there were more than 800 beneficiaries from all faiths and the project was funded by philanthropists and businessmen from Colombo
Monetary assistance for this project didn’t come from the NIDA Foundation coffers. NIDA only “facilitated the distribution” of dry rations “funded by philanthropists and businessmen from Colombo” to some families at Bloemendhal area. Why has NIDA not utilized the millions of Rupees they have in their possession during this pandemic is a million dollar question!
