COLOMBO : Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella said health guidelines will further be relaxed and new guidelines will be announced on Saturday ,March 5.
He said that due to the COVID-19 guidelines, relatives were unable to pay their last respects to those who had passed away during funerals and hoped that it could be restored to normal at least to some extent.
The Minister made this comment while addressing the media subsequent to a function held in Kundasale on Thursday. He said further that as of now, more 150,000 persons have recovered after receiving treatment at their homes after contracting CCOVID. He also mentioned that if they had to hospitalize all of these individuals the situation would have been far more serious.
The Health Minister said that only one person who was being treated at home for COVID died and only 1,460 persons had to be hospitalised.
