COLOMBO : Ambassador A.M.J. Sadiq hosted a dinner in honour of thenew High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Sri Lanka, His Excellency DM Salahuddin Mahmud to welcome him and his spouse at the Global Kitchen restaurant in Colombo on Tuesday, 22nd September.
The Governor of the Western Province, Hanif Yusoof and the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Dr Rizvie Salih, Ambassadors of the Russian Federation and Palestine, as well as the High Commissioner of Malaysia graced the occasion.
Mr Ajith Perera, Chair/Executive Secretary of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce & Industry (APTA CCI), Mr Mohamed Rasooldeen, Chief Editor of the ‘Colombo Times’ and Mr M.S. Mohamed Afthab, Chairman of Universal Global Holdings, the owning company of the Global Kitchen and Indian Summer restaurant chain across Sri Lanka and the newly opened Thai Fusion restaurant in Colombo were also present at this informal dinner to welcome the new envoy of Bangladesh.
High Commissioner Mahmud presented his credentials to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on 25th August and formally assumed duties.
