COLOMBO The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (Amendment) Bill was passed by the Parliament of Sri Lanka Thursday,August. 6. The bill was presented for its first reading in Parliament on 21 July 2026 by the Minister of Housing, Construction and Water Supply, Dr. Susil Ranasinghe.
The amendment aims to improve the administrative efficiency of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, strengthen the management of water supply services, and expand the Board’s responsibilities.
These amendments are expected to enhance the efficiency of the country’s water supply services and strengthen the overall operations of the Board.
