Excellency,
On the occasion of the 77′ National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, I wish to extend
my sincere felicitations and congratulations to you and to the people of Viet Nam.
I note with great satisfaction that multifaceted cooperation between our two countries has been
consolidating over the years. The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries have been
playing a pivotal role in nurturing and furthering our deep and mutually respected and valued
bilateral relationship. | am pleased to note we have been able to successfully conclude the
Fourth Round of Bilateral Political Consultations in February this year and Sri Lanka looks
forward to convening the Fourth Joint Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technological
Cooperation between the two countries.
Both Viet Nam and Sri Lanka have been active partners in regional and international diplomacy,
advancement of socio-economic development and peace and stability. Viet Nam’s great
successes in regional diplomacy through ASEAN and being the Chair during 2020 and its
significant and highly valued contribution in various platforms and mechanisms of the United
Nations are admired and appreciated worldwide. Viet Nam’s tremendous socio-economic
successes after the Doi Moi reforms of 1986 have been able to improve the lives of millions of
Vietnamese and establish Viet Nam as an important partner of trade and investment in Asia.
I wish Your Excellency, good health and every success in all your activities.
