




MOHAMMED RASOOLDEEN
COLOMBO- Editor of Vidvelli, Mohammed Fairooz was elected as the president at the 30th Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Muslim Media Forum , SLMMF, held in Colombo on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Fairooz succeeds N M Ameen who had held the presidency for the past 27 years.
The meeting preceded by a ceremonial session held under the patronage of the Health and Media Minister Dr Nalinda Jayatissa in the presence of Saudi Ambassador Khalid Humoud Alkahtani as the guest-of -honour.
The other key officials elected at the meeting included Fahim Shams -secretary general and Kiyas A Buhary- General Treasurer. A 15-member committee was also elected from among 37 contestants,
The Forum was founded by the late S B C Halaldeen who was the commissioner of labour at the time .
